University of Chicago Study Shows: Criminals Don’t Buy Guns Legally

In the “Captain Obvious” category: a study by the University of Chicago Crime Lab found that inmates in the Cook County jail said they get their guns on the streets rather than guns shows or the internet.

The study also found that the vast majority of inmates used handguns to commit their crimes or protect themselves, very few cited using military-style assault weapons.
