Hector M. Barajas brings with him nearly 12 years of campaign and communication experience from
the federal, state, and local levels.
Hector served as the communications director for the
California Victory 2008 campaign and the California Delegation to the 2008 National Republican Convention, Spanish media spokesman
for the Republican National Committee, as well as the
McCain/Palin ‘08, and Bush/Cheney
’04 presidential campaigns. Today, Hector continues to provide communications assistance
to the California Republican Party and over a dozen
state elected officials.
Before joining the California Republican Party Hector
was a former student leader, regional banking officer
for Bank of America, political field director, volunteer
coordinator, and spokesperson for numerous elected
officials and campaigns including Congressman Jim Rogan,
Los Angeles Mayor Richard Riordian, Los Angeles County
Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich, and Governor Arnold
Schwarzenegger’s gubernatorial and reelection campaigns (2003, 2006).
Hector has appeared on the BBC, Univision, Telemundo,
Mega TV, CNN, NBC, ABC, Fox News, and CBS. His comments and editorials have been published in
the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, San Francisco
Chronicle, North County Times, Los Angeles Times, Pasadena
Star News, Santa Clarita Signal, El Salvador, Teleguia,
La Prensa, and other
publications. Mr. Barajas is also a regular contributing editor to
The Latino Report, Flash Report, Political Vida, Hispanic
Vista, and Red County.
A California native, Mr. Barajas was born in East Los
Angeles and raised in Echo Park. A graduate from California
State University, Los Angeles, earning a degree in
Political Science. Hector currently resides in Sacramento with his wife
Miryam, and their newborn baby girl, Isabella.
