In a 7-4 ruling an 11-judge panel of the 9th US Circuit Court of Appeals said that people do not have a right to carry concealed weapons in public under the 2nd Amendment.

The panel noted that applicants for concealed weapons permits must show an immediate danger beyond just self-defense.

Gun owners indicate that they would appeal the ruling to the United States Supreme Court.

This ruling overturns a 2014 ruling by a 3 panel 9th Circuit Appeals Court decision that allowed counties to loosen their rules for concealed weapons permits.
